Job Description:
Qualifications/Requirements:
Applicant must:
* Possess a valid Ohio Education of the Handicapped Licensed/Certificate with SLD, CD validation
(candidates with multiple special education validations preferred) or Intervention Specialist: Mild-
Moderate
* Be aware of the social and emotional needs of each individual student
* Demonstrate the ability to identify individual student needs
* Complete all IEPs and ETRs to remain compliant
* Creatively develop and implement integrated and functional activities to teach the contact standards
* Effectively differentiate instruction
* Efficiently use student data to determine individual needs, develop targeted learning plans, and
monitor ongoing progress
* Serve students with a variety of handicapping conditions as well as at-risk students within an
intervention or inclusion setting
* Effectively plan, design and implement a variety of behavior management strategies
* Possess strong communication and organizational skills
* Demonstrate the ability to collaborate with parents, special and regular education staff, students,
related service personnel and community agencies in the delivery of services to students with
disabilities
* Be objective, flexible, and have an understanding of students with disabilities.
* Participate in department, building and district professional development opportunities relating to the
education of students with disabilities
* Be acceptable to the Building Principal, Director of Student Services & Assistant Superintendent of
Certificated/Licensed Personnel
